Alright new Bengals, the next Bengal Task is just as easy as the last How To Tuesday! As August nears, make sure you have set yourself up for success here at Idaho State University. Many students attribute their first college memories to their New Student Orientation experience. The purpose of the NSO programs is to educate students about the social and academic aspects of college life. It is important to understand how to be successful in both these areas, because together, they are strong predictors of your college experience. Socially, you will interact with fellow peers and learn ways in which they can be involved on campus. Academically, you will learn campus resources/departments and meet faculty/staff involved in your specific area(s).
Although learning the “basics” of Idaho State University is so important, New Student Orientation is also highly recommended for a simple reason—IT’S SO FUN! The entire program is packed full of activities including Slip n Slide, Concert on the Quad, Party at the Pond and Playfair. You will meet and interact with many new people through these events, and hopefully begin lifelong friendships. If you will be living on campus next year, you can look forward to the Orientation Leaders helping you to move into your residence hall room! Trust us, using the team will save you a lot of energy and time! Throughout NSO, new students receive fun ISU “swag” items like t-shirts, hats, and more. You’ll be ready to show off your Bengal pride with all new gear! And if the fun of the social events and the “swag” doesn’t speak to you – did we mention the food?!
We cannot wait to meet our newest Bengals in August on each campus – Pocatello, Idaho Falls, Twin Falls, and Meridian! The NSO Brochure mailed to you in June lists the schedule of events. You can also visit our website to register or find more information. See you in August! GO BENGALS!!
